Product Illustration Specialist | Annuity and Disability

The Opportunity:

Annuity and Disability Products Illustration Specialist.  Our agents count on us to be their complete back-office support; from quoting and illustrations to marketing and product delivery, we are the one-stop-shop. The Product and Illustration Specialist is often the first point of contact for our agents working with a new prospect. He or she is responsible for creating unique case design solutions while providing a world-class customer service experience throughout the policy planning process.

What to expect:

The consultative model of our firm requires that our illustration specialists demonstrate a strong technical knowledge and understanding of Annuity and Disability Products, as well as the ability to trouble-shoot and think creatively to come up with “outside the box” solutions to clients’ often complex problems. You must be well-organized and have the ability to manage and service several call campaigns in a timely manner.  Your good computer and time management skills, as well as dedication to detail, are crucial to your success with our company.

Because of the dynamics in the insurance industry, you must be able to learn new concepts quickly, enjoy being on the phone and thrive meeting and exceeding goals.  Working closely with colleagues to stay on top of changes in the marketplace is a priority. You must also feel comfortable receiving feedback on your work and coaching from the management team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with our agents in order to understand each individual client’s needs
  • Anticipate, and find solutions for, possible shortfalls in existing or proposed insurance-based solutions
  • Run illustrations in Winflex Web and stand-alone carrier software to compare all options
  • Work closely with our in-house underwriting team to find the best carrier-fit for our clients
  • Conduct sales calls to educate clients on the products and solutions we are offering
  • Translate highly technical information for the purpose of effective customer communications
  • Complete competitive and quantitative analysis of competitors to establish a sales advantage

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • College degree preferred
  • 2+ years Customer Service experience
  • 3+ years Insurance experience preferred, preferably in the area of case design.  Deep understanding of Annuity and Disability Products is preferred
  • Experience with Winflex Web and stand-alone carrier illustration software
  • Life, Health and Annuity license. If not held currently, required to be obtained within the first three months of employment.
  • Confidence with computers
  • Self-starter with ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Demonstrated time-management and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
